I've always believed that multiple income streams can give you something incredibly valuable: choice. It isn't simply about earning more money. It's about creating different opportunities, building greater security and giving yourself the freedom to shape a life that works for you ...

Thanks to multiple income streams, I've been able to create a fulfilling and financially stable lifestyle that I truly enjoy

Thanks to multiple income streams, I've been able to create a fulfilling and financially stable lifestyle that I truly enjoy

That philosophy has shaped many of the decisions I've made over the years, including one I made very early in the story of Utility Warehouse, a company that has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. When I first got involved, the business was very different from what it is today.

I remember a small head office with just six people!

Being at the BP Pulse LIVE arena recently and seeing what it has grown into was quite something. For me, building multiple income streams means recognising opportunities that align with your values, and I saw something in the company early on that I believed could grow while helping others.

That last part has always mattered to me. I love opportunities where everybody can benefit, and helping people review their household spending and potentially save money fits naturally with how I think.

If I can help somebody make their money work a little harder while also creating an income for myself, that feels like a much more positive way of doing business.

It's also why I've never wanted my financial life to rely entirely on one thing. Multiple income streams have let me explore different interests and opportunities without expecting any single one to provide everything. Some grow quickly, some take years, and others simply tick along quietly in the background. Together, they give me flexibility.

Being at the anniversary event was therefore about much
more than celebrating a company milestone!

I had the chance to meet the team members in person, hear about their successes, and reflect on how far everything has come. There was also a rather unexpected moment when I found myself featured on a huge poster at the conference.

Apparently, after all these years, I can finally claim to be a poster girl. It was fun, but I was genuinely proud too!

Multiple income streams aren't always about constantly chasing the next new idea. Sometimes they're about spotting something you believe in, sticking with it and allowing it the time to become part of the bigger picture.

Thirty years is an extraordinary milestone, and seeing that journey firsthand reminded me why I still believe so strongly in creating opportunities rather than relying on a single path. For me, multiple income streams are ultimately about building greater freedom and helping other people where I can.

That way, I can continue to create a life I genuinely love.

Until next time ...

About Davina Farrer ...

Davina Farrer

I’ve always believed life is too short to sit still and wait for “someday.” From travelling the world in my twenties to taking on challenges like long-distance coastal walks, I’ve built a life around adventure, freedom, and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

After becoming a mum, I wanted a way to be present for my family while still creating an income and future for myself. That led me to build a flexible, residual income business that fits around real life - not the other way round. Today, I help others do the same, showing them how to reduce their bills and create more choice with their time.

For me, it’s not just about money - it’s about freedom. Freedom to travel, take on new challenges, and be there for the moments that matter most. If you’re looking for a way to create more flexibility, more income, and more life in your days, you’re in the right place.
