How many times have you met someone, had a brilliant conversation, exchanged details and then ... nothing? Life gets busy, work takes over, and before you know it, a potentially valuable connection has quietly slipped through the cracks ...

Every conversation is an opportunity, but it's the follow-up that turns connections into lasting relationships.

Every conversation is an opportunity, but it's the follow-up that turns connections into lasting relationships.

Whether you're running a business, building a customer base, or simply looking to expand your professional network, reaching out to people can make all the difference. After all, opportunities rarely come knocking twice if we've forgotten to leave the door open!

Every conversation has potential!

You never really know where a conversation might lead. Someone you meet today could become a customer, a business partner, a valuable referral source, or even someone who introduces you to an entirely new opportunity. The important thing is to recognise that building relationships doesn't stop when the conversation ends.

A quick message, a friendly email or even a phone call can keep that connection alive. It doesn't have to be a sales pitch.

In fact, the best follow-ups are often the simplest. Mention something you discussed, share a useful resource or just say how lovely it was to meet them. People appreciate being remembered, and genuine interest builds trust far more effectively than a pushy sales approach.

Make staying connected a habit!

It's surprisingly easy to forget names, conversations and promises when you're meeting lots of people. Keep a few notes, set reminders and make following up part of your regular routine. Even ten minutes a day can make a difference.

Whether you're connecting with businesses or individual customers, opportunities grow through relationships, consistency and genuine conversations. So, think about someone you've met recently but haven't contacted yet. Why not send them a message today?

And finally, this month, I'm looking for three people who would be interested in earning an extra £1,000 before Christmas. Could that be you?

Until next time ...

About Davina Farrer ...

Davina Farrer

I’ve always believed life is too short to sit still and wait for “someday.” From travelling the world in my twenties to taking on challenges like long-distance coastal walks, I’ve built a life around adventure, freedom, and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

After becoming a mum, I wanted a way to be present for my family while still creating an income and future for myself. That led me to build a flexible, residual income business that fits around real life - not the other way round. Today, I help others do the same, showing them how to reduce their bills and create more choice with their time.

For me, it’s not just about money - it’s about freedom. Freedom to travel, take on new challenges, and be there for the moments that matter most. If you’re looking for a way to create more flexibility, more income, and more life in your days, you’re in the right place.
