This week, I kept noticing the same message everywhere: listening to The Consistency Chain, attending a webinar, and reading about Steven Bartlett's 1% philosophy. Different stories, one simple idea at the core ...

Small daily actions can lead to extraordinary results, proving that consistency and dedication are key to achieving greatness

Small daily actions can lead to extraordinary results, proving that consistency and dedication are key to achieving greatness

The idea is that success rarely comes from one huge action. More often, it comes from small things done consistently over time. These are usually the things that are easy to do, but just as easy not to do.

It reminded me of a few books that have made a
real impression on me over the years!

The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, Atomic Habits by James Clear, and The Consistency Chain by George Campbell et al all teach a similar lesson. Small daily actions may not feel significant in the moment, but they add up in an incredible way.

I think this is where many people struggle. We often look for dramatic changes, quick wins, or a big breakthrough that will suddenly transform our lives. In reality, lasting progress is usually much quieter.

The Pareto Principle, often called the 80/20 rule, fits well with this way of thinking. A small number of actions tend to produce the majority of our results. The trick is to identify which habits matter most and then stick with them long enough to see the benefits.

It might be making one extra phone call, following up with a potential customer, reading a few pages of a book, or spending fifteen minutes learning something new. None of these actions feels particularly remarkable at the time. Yet when repeated over weeks, months, and years, they can open doors that once seemed impossible.

When I look back at my own journey, none of the things
I'm most proud of happened overnight!

Building my business, creating multiple income streams, enjoying weekends away in the caravan, being able to hike for several weeks at a time, and having the freedom to spend time with my granddaughter all came from small, consistent actions over time. There wasn't a magic moment when everything suddenly fell into place.

Instead, it was the result of showing up day after day and doing the things that moved me forward, even when I couldn't immediately see the results. Some days felt productive and exciting, while others felt like I was making no progress. Looking back now, every one of those small steps mattered.

That's why I'm such a believer in consistency. You don't need to be extraordinary to achieve extraordinary results. You simply need to keep showing up, keep taking the next step, and trust that those small actions are building something bigger than you can see today.

Here's my challenge for you. Pick one habit that genuinely improves your life and commit to it for the next 30 days. Keep it simple, track your progress, and don't worry about perfection.

You might be surprised by how much can change when you focus on being just 1% better each day.

Until next time ...

About Davina Farrer ...

Davina Farrer

I’ve always believed life is too short to sit still and wait for “someday.” From travelling the world in my twenties to taking on challenges like long-distance coastal walks, I’ve built a life around adventure, freedom, and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

After becoming a mum, I wanted a way to be present for my family while still creating an income and future for myself. That led me to build a flexible, residual income business that fits around real life - not the other way round. Today, I help others do the same, showing them how to reduce their bills and create more choice with their time.

For me, it’s not just about money - it’s about freedom. Freedom to travel, take on new challenges, and be there for the moments that matter most. If you’re looking for a way to create more flexibility, more income, and more life in your days, you’re in the right place.
